Two Leyland girls have had special t-shirts printed in a bid to find their missing cat, Munchie.

Lauren and Hannah Parker, of Moss Lane, have been left devastated since their beloved three-and-a-half year-old chocolate Burmese cat went missing on August 2 and are now hoping readers of The Citizen may be able to help track him down.

The girls’ mum Lynn said: “We are all really upset. He is not like normal cats and he doesn’t wander off so we think someone must have taken him in. He is a pedigree cat so he is worth a lot of money but we just want him back because we miss him.

“He is a member of the family and we just want him back. We have made posters and leaflets and I have got friends who deliver Kleeneze and Avon catalogues to push leaflets through doors.

“The girls have been walking around in some special t-shirts we have had made but nothing seems to be working. I am just hoping someone reading this may have some information that could lead us to him.” Dad Roger, a property developer, and the family’s other cat, a six-year-old lilac Burmese named Bam Bam, have also been affected by Munchie’s disappearance.

Lynn said: “Bam Bam has hardly eaten since Munchie went missing and he just wanders around the house crying. Even Roger, who used to pretend he wasn’t that bothered that we had a cat, is upset because he is part of our family. We don’t know what else we can do.

“I have had some nice text messages from people who have seen the leaflets and posters saying that they are spreading the word so we are just trying to stay positive.”

Anyone who knows Munchie’s whereabouts can contact Lynn on 07748 156344 or 01772 461269.
