A would-be customer at a supermarket near Leyland wheeled a trolley of goods out of the store without paying.

The incident happened at the Asda Supermarket, Clayton Brook, near Leyland, shortly after 11.30am, on Friday.

The prospective customer stole a selection of items, including a large pack of crisps which were placed on top of the other goods in the trolley, before passing the tills.

Once removed from the store the goods were placed in the back of an awaiting black VS transporter vehicle.
