It was heartbreak for Preston Olympian Emma Hindle who failed in her quest for a medal in the individual dressage final.

Despite leading and then being second at the halfway stage Preston-born Emma finished seventh in the final.

The 34-year-old's score of 74.25, riding Lancet, was one the highest ever Olympic scores for a Briton in the dressage event and the 7th place finish is the best since 1984.
