A 28-year-old man suffered a broken ankle and a cut to the head after plunging from the first floor of Preston bus station last night.

The incident happened at about 4.50pm and the man, who has not been named, was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital where he was kept in overnight.

Police were called and closed the road for a short time but a spokesman said that they would not be investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
