THE family of an 11 year old boy who died after being hit by a car in Preston have described him as a “loving, caring and happy child.”
Calvin Leary, from Ashton, was knocked down on Blackpool Road at Lane Ends at 11.30am yesterday.
He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Calvin’s father Pete Leary said: “Calvin’s family, friends and school friends are devastated by this tragic loss.
"Calvin was a loving, caring and happy child who was in his final year at St Andrew’s School in Ashton. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.”
Calvin’s mother Jacqui Pollock said: “Calvin will be greatly missed by those who loved and knew him well.
"His cheeky smile, sense of humour and kindness will live in our hearts forever.”
An investigation is underway and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
