No to Tesco wind turbines

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! is the answer to the Tesco wind turbines.

If we let planning be accepted for them to be erected, where else in the town will they pop up - maybe on all the churches or schools? or even the duck pond island in Worden Park?

If Tesco want them to go on their buildings, I am sure that out of the 1700 stores nationwide, there must be one on an industrial estate somewhere in the country where they wouldn't be an eyesore (as this building is anyway) built so close to our conservation area So come on South Ribble Planning Dept, show us your true colours by working for your salary and pensions we pay you, to show the people of Leyland you care about the area and get this planning permission sent to the dustbin where it belongs.

If YOU can't, then how can we do it except by either a strong public protest or may I suggest we group together and have a 'no shop' at Tesco for a week or so.

There are plenty more stores in the area without having to be beholden to Tesco If they want to rule the world let them go do it elsewhere Leyland resident name and address supplied

i just dont ubder stand some people's views, we need to see more of these wind turbines not less, look around not just leyland, but the whole world the world is changeing fast, it wont be to long before we all have them on our houses, not because we are told to but because we need to, i congratulate tesco for wanting to take positive steps, we are all surounded by overhead high voltage cables, and microwave and celular phone transmitters, yet when someone wants to put up something that is totaly harmless to us and uses the earths natural supply of wind, people complain, if you have never visited a wind farm i would sugest you do, they are a very fasinating and peacefull place and all set in fantastic suroundings, ok im not saying there sould be 50+ wind turbines at tesco, but, there is a need for these even in towns and citys,
im not from leyland but i go to leyland every day to worden park with my children, and to shop at the local shops and tesco, and also the tesco fuel is cheaper than chorley tesco, i wish they would put wind turbines all around this area,
put one in my garden with pleasure,
there are more important things to worry about, i heard from someone in leyland that worden park may be sold for houseing land, due to a shortfall of council funds, now this is more of a worry dont you think.

How narrow a view of the the world you have with your head buried in the sand. If this so called citizen cares so much for their environment I'm sure they are leading the way by not using a mobile phone, not having a television, cycling everywhere and ensuring that their family follow the same ethical stance. Of course this not being the case would simply indicate the writer is a self centred fool caring only for their own little world and thoughtless toward the world left to future generations.
Go back to Little Winging Mr and Mrs Sainsbury Shopper and let Tesco prove with their actions that a big business will put its money and actions where everyone elses words end.

Get with the times, who ever it is that wants to protest about tesco and Wind Turbines. I think that you have missed something. there is a huge wind turbine towering over Welfield School already and i have not heard a single complait from this money saving eco-machine. Tesco is right to pave the way, after all it gets plenty of stick for other green issues such as plastic carriers or excessive packaging. At least they are doing something good in response to the "Green Issues".
I was also surprised to read that somebody had written that tesco is an eye sore? I think it is a wonderful design and less of an eyesore than Pylons or telegraph poles and much more. lets get up to date and be positive for a change.
